CFAO Mobility Ghana PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical business practices following a high-level engagement with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026.
The CFAO delegation was led by Managing Director and Country Delegate, Adedamola Adelabu, and included Fabrice Morin, Director of Operations – Multibrand, Yanick Camerman, Director of Operations – Equipment; Anita Arthur, Human Resource Director, Dr. Adam Tettey Larbie – General Manager, Aftersales and Dennis Gawuga, Communications Manager.
The meeting, held at the DVLA’s head office, was convened in response to recent developments concerning the use of unauthorised Drive from Port (DP) stickers, as referenced in the Authority’s earlier press release and CFAO’s subsequent response.
During the discussions, the Chief Executive of DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye expressed concern about the recent rate of counterfeit stickers and plates infiltrating the system. CFAO however reiterated its longstanding position as a responsible corporate entity that places strong emphasis on compliance, integrity, and adherence to best practices across all operations.
DVLA leadership acknowledged this position and confirmed that the alleged irregularities were linked to the actions of individuals within a third-party clearing agency.
DVLA further indicated that the issue reflects a broader, industry-wide challenge, which informed the recent introduction of enhanced DP stickers with additional security features.
The Authority confirmed that it is working with law enforcement agencies to assist in the release of the 40 impounded vehicles following ongoing verification processes. The Authority explained that its systems are designed to detect cases of wrongful use of stickers during registration or ownership transfer processes, at which point the law permits impoundment.
As part of forward-looking measures, both parties agreed on several key initiatives including:
• Training and Capacity Building: CFAO requested formal training from DVLA on identifying authentic versus counterfeit DP stickers. This training will be implemented shortly and integrated into CFAO’s Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) processes as an additional control layer.
• Embedded Support: DVLA proposed the possibility of assigning dedicated personnel to support CFAO’s processes within their office, ensuring closer coordination and faster resolution.
CFAO Mobility Ghana remains resolute in its commitment to operating with the highest standards of compliance, transparency, and ethical conduct.
The company views this engagement not only as an opportunity to resolve the current situation, but also to strengthen systems, partnerships, and industry practices going forward.
