At the ongoing Kwahu Business Forum in the Eastern Region, President John Dramani Mahama has given special praise to his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, for his visionary role in the formation and success of the forum.

President Mahama credited Julius Debrah with conceiving the idea and driving its implementation, noting his deep affection for the people of Kwahu and Ghana as a whole.

Detailing the history of the forum from its incubation stage to its current prominence, President Mahama highlighted how Julius Debrah played a pivotal role in transforming it into a key feature of Easter celebrations in the country.

“My friend and co-conspirator, Julius Debrah conceived the idea that as we gather in Kwahu to celebrate, we must also create a business forum focused on Ghana’s economic future,” he said.

As the forum continues to grow in stature and national importance, President Mahama unveiled ambitious plans to elevate it further and position it as a major driver of development for the Kwahu enclave.

“We want to take this whole thing a step further. We are working with Metalex and Trasacco to build a permanent convention, conference and exhibition center on this site,” he said.

“We want to have an airstrip here so that flights can come in, both domestically and people from outside who want to come and attend conferences,” he stated.

The Kwahu Business Forum is a premier national platform that brings together business leaders, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and startups to discuss Ghana’s economic growth, industrialization, and private sector development.

Conceived as the brainchild of President John Dramani Mahama and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, the forum was launched in 2024 as a modest stakeholder engagement during the famous Kwahu Easter homecoming.

What began as an initiative to add a serious business dimension to the traditional Easter festivities in Kwahu has rapidly grown into one of Ghana’s most significant annual economic gatherings.

Now in its third edition in 2026, the forum is being held at the Kwahu Convention Centre in Mpraeso, Eastern Region, and continues to serve as a non-partisan space for networking, investment matchmaking, mentorship, and policy dialogue aimed at driving national development.
