Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has commissioned an ultra-modern ICT Centre at the Sankana Cluster of Schools in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region, aimed at strengthening digital education and practical ICT training for students.

The facility is expected to bridge the technology gap in the area by providing students with access to modern computing tools and improving hands-on learning in Information and Communication Technology.

Speaking to Citi News, the District Chief Executive for Nadowli-Kaleo, Mary Haruna, welcomed the intervention, describing it as a significant boost to education in a district where ICT facilities remain limited.

“This commissioning is a very heartwarming one. ICT centres are not common in our district and for this singular honour we are very grateful. Our girls and boys will now be able to access it, even those beyond this community,” she said.

The Headmaster of the Sankana D/A Junior High School, Abraham Behtu, also described the development as long overdue, noting that it will transform how ICT is taught in the school.

“This is something we have been yearning and praying for. We have been teaching the students abstractly, drawing computers on the board. Today, they can touch them and have a feel of ICT,” he said.
