A tragic road crash at Kwashieman in Accra has left several people feared dead following a violent collision involving a passenger bus and a truck.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Good Friday, April 3, when a Grand Bird bus travelling from Takoradi towards Sowutuom attempted to make a turn at the Kwashieman traffic light.
At the same time, a truck loaded with onions was approaching the intersection from the Lapaz direction, heading towards the Kasoa stretch.
According to reports, the truck was moving on an amber light when the bus driver proceeded with the turn.
Despite repeated honking by the truck driver to alert the bus to clear the intersection, the two vehicles collided, resulting in a powerful impact.
The force of the crash pushed the truck off its path, causing it to veer into pedestrians who had gathered at the traffic light, waiting to cross the road.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as devastating, with the extent of damage and injuries creating panic among bystanders.

Reports indicate that the bus was carrying people who were attending a Convention.
Police say the severity of the crash has made it difficult to immediately determine the number of casualties. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
