The family of late Ghanaian actress Beverly Ama Afaglo has appealed to the media and the public to respect their privacy as preparations intensify for her one-week remembrance vigil scheduled for Saturday, May 30.

In a statement issued through Cine-God Studios, management on behalf of the family called for prayers, support, and understanding as they mourn the actress, who died on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 42.

The family’s appeal comes ahead of the “One-Week Remembrance Vigil,” which will be held at the Green Flavour Events Centre at Community 9 in Tema from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

According to the statement, the event will honour the life and legacy of the actress and entrepreneur, whose passing has sparked an outpouring of grief across Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Guests are expected to wear black and red attire for the solemn gathering, which will feature worship and praise sessions, scripture readings, tributes from family members and colleagues in the creative arts industry, special musical performances, a sermon, torch lighting and a balloon release.
While expressing appreciation for the overwhelming support received since news of Beverly Afaglo’s death broke, the family urged the media to be considerate during this difficult period.

“The family respectfully requests prayers, support, and privacy as they mourn this painful loss and make arrangements for her final rites,” portions of the statement read.

Management further noted that details regarding her final funeral rites would be announced in due course.

Since reports of her passing emerged, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, actors and entertainment personalities, many describing Beverly Afaglo as talented, warm-hearted and dedicated to her craft.

Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo Baah built a successful career in Ghana’s film and television industry through roles in productions such as Return of Beyonce, Crime to Christ, Girls Connection, Single Six, A Northern Affair, Sidechic Gang, Aloe Vera and Every Woman Has a Story.

Beyond acting, she pursued studies in journalism and public relations at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and also trained as a beauty therapist at the FC Institute of Beauty Therapy, later venturing into entrepreneurship.

Beverly Afaglo was married to musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of Praye fame, and together they had two children.
