Gordon Asare-Bediako, an aspiring Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says effective political communication has become the key battleground in modern elections, arguing that parties now win or lose based on public perception rather than policy alone.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Citiuation Room on Thursday, May 7, he explained that strong communication strategy is essential for any political party hoping to succeed at the polls.

Mr. Asare-Bediako stressed that his experience within the NPP and his preparation over the years make him confident of leading the party’s communications efforts effectively if given the opportunity.

“Contemporary politics, the battle ground has shifted to communication where political parties lose or win in the arena of public opinion and so it is essential that you get your communication right.

“Regardless of how competent your flag bearer is if you don’t get your communication right, forget the election and I am sure I am well prepared, well trained, well groomed, I have paid my dues in NPP and I am better positioned to be the arrow head for the communications department,” he said.
