Three trees fell across Lagos Avenue near Ghana Link in Ayawaso West during Monday’s heavy downpour, disrupting traffic flow and posing risks to motorists and pedestrians.
Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, together with the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly officials, carried out an emergency operation to clear the fallen trees blocking sections of the road.
The MP, alongside the Municipal Chief Executive and other officials, took part in the exercise to remove the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow.
He indicated that the operation is expected to last about four hours and apologised to motorists for the inconvenience.
Mr Dumelo also advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid any further disruption.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Dumelo advised, “We are currently cutting and clearing 3 trees that have blocked some section of the Lagos Avenue close to Ghana Link. Pls use alternative routes. We should be done in about 4 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
