Residents of Church Village, near the P.V. Obeng Roundabout in Tema Community 5, are counting their losses after heavy rainfall flooded parts of the area, submerging homes and damaging personal belongings.
The flooding, which residents say was triggered by continuous rains over the past days, worsened following downpour on Saturday, June 6, leaving several houses inundated.

Residents say the flooding was worsened by the opening of a nearby dam in Ashaiman to allow excess water to flow.
The flooding displaced several households and caused extensive property damage, with many families struggling to salvage their belongings.
Some affected residents described the situation as devastating, saying they were forced to spend the night in unsafe conditions after floodwaters inundated their homes.

They are appealing to government agencies, including the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), as well as other relevant authorities, to intervene urgently and provide relief support to help them recover from the destruction.
