One person has been confirmed dead following the collapse of a three-storey building at Adenta New Site in the Greater Accra Region.

Two other persons are currently reported to be trapped under the debris, while one survivor has been rescued and is receiving medical attention at a health facility.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, June 3, has triggered a major emergency response, with personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service at the scene leading ongoing rescue operations.

According to the Police, the deceased is a woman, while the two persons still trapped are children.

Fire officers and police personnel are working together to clear the rubble and search for any additional victims believed to be trapped beneath the collapsed structure.

Authorities have not yet provided full details on the cause of the collapse, while the extent of damage is still being assessed.

Rescue and recovery operations are ongoing as emergency teams continue efforts at the site.
