Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has urged residents of the Central Region to support the government and local authorities in implementing development projects, stressing that a collective effort is needed to improve infrastructure and public services.

According to her, concerns raised during the election campaign—particularly about poor road networks—are being addressed under ongoing government interventions, alongside improvements in education and health infrastructure.

Speaking during a Resetting Ghana Tour to the Central Region on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Vice President said government is working to resolve long-standing development challenges across key sectors.

“During our campaign, almost everyone was crying about the roads in the country. Thankfully, we have all seen the progress that the government is putting in place to ensure that this and other related matters, especially regarding education, health and others are being solved,” she said.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also called on citizens to actively support local assemblies in their development efforts, saying collaboration between government and communities was essential for sustained progress.

“I plead with you all, our assemblies have also put in place things they are following. I want to urge all of us to help them. We should not appear to be people who know everything. Everyone should volunteer to push the region to a higher height,” she said.

She further appealed for civility in public discourse, urging residents of the region to maintain respectful communication in their engagement with leadership and governance issues.

“Also, I would like to plead with us all, as a region, we are not known to be people who use filthy words in our communications. Our leaders didn’t teach us that. A good government has come with President Mahama as the leader who is working. Now it is left with you and I,” she added.
