As part of activities marking its 41st anniversary, Victory Bible Church International has organised a blood donation exercise to support the country’s blood banks and help address recurring blood shortages in hospitals.
The exercise brought together hundreds of church members across the Greater Accra Region, highlighting the role faith-based organisations can play in supporting national development.
The Head of the Medical Team of Victory Bible Church International and a Family Medicine Physician at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Rev. Dr. Ernest Anim-Opare, said the donation drive was a direct response to a critical national need.

Rev. Dr. Ernest Anim-Opare also dismissed the misconception that blood donation negatively affects the health of donors, stressing the importance of regular blood donation in saving lives during critical emergency situations.
“There is no known side effects, rather, because of the way the body functions. To start with you should be an adult. We are looking at those 18 years and above. Once they donate blood, we expect that the body replenishes its stock within three months so there is no known adverse effects,” he said.
