Three people, including the driver of a minibus, have lost their lives following a head-on collision between an Accra–Bawku-bound VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienta with registration number UE 302-25 travelling from Bawku to Bolgatanga.
The tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 13 at Saka, a community near Zebilla, the capital of the Bawku West District.
The deceased and injured victims were rushed to the Bawku West District Hospital in Zebilla for medical attention and preservation.
Sources indicate that the driver of the Toyota Sienta, popularly known as “P Pant,” had acquired the vehicle only last month and had recently begun operating from the station.
Identities of the rest of the victims are yet to be made public, while the Bawku West District Police and the Ghana National Fire Service continue investigations into the cause of the accident.
