Management of Citi FM and Channel One TV have paid tribute to the late Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, describing him as a father figure whose reign strengthened the long-standing relationship between the Dagbon Kingdom and the media organisation.

The delegation, led by the Head of Events and Partnerships at Channel One TV and Citi FM, Frema Adunyame, signed the Book of Condolence at the Gbewaa Palace, where they expressed their sympathies to the royal family and the people of Dagbon.

Speaking after signing the Book of Condolence, Frema Adunyame said the passing of the Ya-Na came as a shock to the management and staff of Citi FM and Channel One TV.

She described the late King as a warm, welcoming, and accommodating leader who embraced the company as part of the Dagbon family.

According to her, his exemplary leadership and commitment to peace and unity laid the foundation for the remarkable development and progress being witnessed across Dagbon.

Frema Adunyame further assured the palace and the people of Dagbon that the strong relationship between Citi FM, Channel One TV and the Dagbon Kingdom would continue to flourish, adding that the company remains committed to preserving the bond established under the late Ya-Na’s reign.

She prayed for the peaceful repose of the late King’s soul and extended the company’s heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Dagbon Traditional Area.

“For us at Channel One TV and Citi FM, we’ve enjoyed a very cordial relationship with the late Ya-Na. I remember in 2019, when he had just assumed the throne, we came here to the Gbewaa Palace; we were well received. We’ve really enjoyed a very great relationship with him. We’ve always been received as family members,” she said.
