Ghana’s Petroleum Funds closed the first half of 2026 with a combined balance of US$1.64 billion, according to the Bank of Ghana’s report on the funds for the period ended June 30, 2026.
The report shows that the Ghana Petroleum Funds received total allocations of US$197.13 million during the first half of the year.
Of this amount, US$137.99 million was allocated to the Ghana Stabilisation Fund, while US$59.14 million went to the Ghana Heritage Fund.
The funds also recorded net income of US$27.79 million during the six-month period.
However, the Ghana Stabilisation Fund recorded a withdrawal of US$132.94 million. It consequently closed the period with a balance of US$182.68 million.
The Ghana Heritage Fund, which recorded no withdrawals during the period, ended the first half with US$1.46 billion.
The report further indicates that the combined opening balance of the two funds at the start of 2026 was US$1.55 billion.
The latest figures reflect the allocation of proceeds from five crude oil liftings during the first half of the year.
These comprised liftings from the Jubilee, Sankofa-Gye Nyame and TEN fields. The report was published by the Bank of Ghana pursuant to the Petroleum Revenue Management Act, 2011 (Act 815), which requires the publication of information on Ghana’s crude oil liftings and allocations to the Ghana Petroleum Funds.
