Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party begins preparations towards its next internal elections.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, July 26, Mr. Kodua affirmed his readiness and commitment to continue leading the party, stressing the need to rebuild and unite the NPP following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
“Prepared. Well-positioned. Focused. REBUILD. Together, let’s bring the NPP back to victory in 2028,” he posted.
Mr. Kodua has served as the NPP’s General Secretary since 2022 after defeating the incumbent John Boadu at the party’s National Delegates Conference held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He secured 2,837 votes to become the party’s chief administrator, taking over from Mr. Boadu, who had served as General Secretary since 2018.
Before his election to the position, Justin Kodua served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), where he oversaw the implementation of youth employment initiatives.
