President John Dramani Mahama has stated that holding high office does not make a person a man of faith, stressing that character and actions—not titles, wealth or position—are the true measure of one’s faith.
“Being President does not prove that I am a man of faith. It is my character and my works that will prove that I am a man of faith,” President Mahama said on Saturday, July 4, 2026, while addressing the Men’s Ministry Faith Conference of the Assemblies of God Church at the Gomoa Pentecost Convention Centre.
He urged Ghanaians to demonstrate their faith through integrity, accountability and service, saying the way people treat their spouses, raise their children, manage public resources, speak about others and serve their communities reflects the authenticity of their beliefs.
The President said every generation needs men of faith and emphasised that genuine faith is rooted in obedience to God, integrity of character, love for family and service to others.
He also pointed to challenges confronting families and society, including moral confusion, changing values and the erosion of the extended family support system, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their faith and uphold strong family values.
“Your character is a reflection of your faith,” President Mahama said.
