The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced that the existing car park at Terminal 3 of the Accra International Airport will be closed from Monday, July 20, 2026, to pave the way for the construction of a seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex.

In a public notice issued on Thursday, July 16, GACL said the closure would affect both stakeholders and the general public as work begins on the new infrastructure project.

The company said it had developed a new Terminal 3 Car Park Annex to ensure uninterrupted parking services during the construction period.

According to GACL, the annex has the capacity to accommodate more than 600 vehicles and will serve airport users while the main car park remains closed.

“To ensure continued parking availability, GACL has constructed the Terminal 3 Car Park Annex, which has a capacity of 600+ vehicles and will serve the general public during this period,” the notice said.

The company added that parking attendants would be deployed to assist motorists and direct airport users in and out of the new parking facility.

The closure forms part of plans to construct a seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex aimed at expanding infrastructure at the airport.

GACL appealed to airport users and visitors for their understanding and cooperation throughout the transition.

“GACL kindly requests the understanding and cooperation of all airport users and visitors throughout the transition period,” the notice said.
