“Join me in another Dumsor Must Stop vigil” – Yvonne Nelson begs Ghanaians

Celebrated actress, Yvonne Nelson, is urging Ghanaians to support her in organizing another ” Dumsor Must Stop” Vigil.

It has been more than three months since the return of chronic power outages in Ghana. Initially, the outages were brief, giving consumers hope that power would be restored in less than five minutes but it turned out to be a test to see what the ECG’s power outage “timetable” would look like.

In 2015, Yvonne Nelson, alongside influential Ghanaians, took to the streets of Accra to demonstrate against the government led by John Dramani Mahama.

The demonstration was aimed at highlighting the need to keep the lights on after experiencing four years of unstable power.

In a statement Yvonne Nelson affirmed that she is concerned that those who supported her in 2015 may now have a soft spot for the current government, making them hesitant to assist her.

Therefore, she’s calling on all Ghanaians with expertise in organizing such a vigil to come together and ensure that the government prioritizes the needs of the people.

Below is the statement
