The National Democratic Congress NDC Chairman for the Nkawkaw Constituency, Tamimu Alidu, has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Kwahu West Assembly.
Out of the total 37 votes, he secured 26 yes votes as against 10 no votes, with 1 rejected representing 70.3% of the total votes to be endorsed as the new MCE by the assembly members.

In the Kwahu South Municipality, the President’s nominee, Effa Osei Bonsu David, was also confirmed with 84% of total valid votes cast by Assembly members.
Effa Osei Bonsu David polled 31 “Yes” votes as against 6 “No ” votes. The Election was supervised by the Electoral Commission.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Awatey, encouraged the assembly members to put aside their political differences and unite behind the new MCE to drive the needed development to Kwahu West.
