Internet pioneer and renowned Ghanaian scientist, Prof. Nii Narku Quaynor, says he is one of the best programmers alive.
He made the statement while urging the nation to invest more in practical computer science education that equips young people to build core technologies.
“We should encourage our youth to be doing more hard development,” he said on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Monday, September 22, emphasising that innovation must be grounded in real technical skills like systems programming, infrastructure design, and software engineering.
Despite his global accolades and pioneering role in introducing the internet to Ghana, Prof. Quaynor continues to teach computer science, mentoring over 300 students.
“I have a class of over 300 students that I still teach – computer science,” he said, underscoring his personal commitment to developing Ghana’s next generation of tech leaders.
