Agrifair 2025: Training clinics to equip participants with agribusiness techniques

The training clinics at this year’s Agrifair have purposely been designed to equip participants with hands-on, income-boosting farming skills, as Ghana steps up efforts to strengthen household food production and widen opportunities across the agribusiness value chain.

The second edition of AgriFair, scheduled for Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, is marketed as Ghana’s biggest exhibition and sale of fresh farm produce and will run daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free entry.

The event is expected to bring together farmers, agribusiness players, agro-processors, financial institutions and consumers to promote food security, stimulate market linkages and support growth across the agricultural value chain.

A major highlight is the AgriFair Training Clinics, where resource persons will deliver hands-on guidance on best farming practices. Head of Events and Partnerships at Citi FM/Channel One TV, Frema Adunyame, has been outlining the importance of these sessions.

“This time around we are focusing on snail farming, fish farming, poultry and piggery so we have these clinics on Saturday and Sunday. It is for everyone regardless of your status and who you are. If you are now thinking of going into farming it is for you. If you are in farming already it is for you. If you are looking at cutting down on monies you spend buying produce, it is for you. If you are not going to practice it, get to know so when you get to the market you can see the different types of snails, fish and all. Expect to get quality tutorials from experts,” she said.

With a few days to go before the fair opens, Frema Adunyame is urging the public to visit the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park and take advantage of the opportunities the event offers.

“ We are just about going into Christmas. This is a proper avenue for you to come, get to learn something. We are taking the middle men out. This is where you get your produce at farmgate prices. The variety is wider than we had in the first edition,” she added.

This year’s AgriFair is powered by Channel One TV and Citi FM, with sponsorship from the Horticulture Business Platform, Development Bank Ghana, Legacy Crop Improvement Centre, GIRSAL, Ghana EXIM Bank, and Agri-Impact. The event is also supported by Twellium Industrial Company Limited.
