A new national tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that a majority of Ghanaians feel their standard of living has improved over the past year, reflecting optimism amid the rollout of the 2026 national budget.

The survey released on Monday, December 29, shows that 56% of respondents said their standard of living has improved compared with a year ago, while 27% said it remained unchanged. Only 12% reported a decline, and 5% had no opinion. Looking ahead, 70% of voters expressed confidence that their standard of living will further improve in 2026, with just 18% expressing pessimism.

On the 2026 budget presented by Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, nearly two-thirds of voters (66%) indicated satisfaction, 18% were dissatisfied, and 16% were neutral.

The poll also highlighted public perceptions on governance. About 56% of respondents believe corruption in the country has improved, while 60% feel the government is doing enough to fight it. Regarding the fight against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, 47% said the menace has not worsened under the Mahama administration, including 43% in mining regions.

The findings suggest that economic measures, combined with governance and anti-corruption efforts, are resonating with a majority of Ghanaians and boosting confidence in the country’s direction.
