The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, has called on the Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, to intensify efforts to expand judicial infrastructure across the country to improve access to justice.
According to him, the absence of courts in some districts continues to deny many citizens timely legal redress when their rights are violated.
Speaking to Citi News on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the Madina MP, who also serves on Parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, said improving access to justice was essential to strengthening the rule of law and safeguarding citizens’ rights.
“Where there are no courts, it means that people in those districts do not have access to justice. This brings to the fore the broader issue of access to justice in our country,” he stated.
Mr. Sosu acknowledged ongoing efforts to improve the justice system but urged the judiciary to do more by securing increased funding and investing in the construction of courts and modern court complexes nationwide.
He said strengthening judicial infrastructure would ensure citizens could seek redress for violations of both public and private rights without undue difficulty.
