Member of Parliament for Atiwa East and former Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei-Asare, has announced the passing of former District Chief Executive for Atiwa/Atiwa East, Kwabena Panyin Nkansah.
In a heartfelt Facebook post expressing grief over the loss, Abena Osei-Asare described the late former DCE as a foundational figure in the development and political history of the Atiwa East area and a committed stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to her, the late Kwabena Panyin Nkansah passed away on Wednesday, May 27, leaving many within the district and the NPP fraternity devastated.
“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Kwabena Panyin Nkansah, former District Chief Executive of Atiwa/Atiwa East which sad event occurred yesterday,” Abena Osei-Asare.
She noted that the death of the former DCE represents a painful loss not only to his family but also to the people of Atiwa East and members of the NPP who worked closely with him over the years.
Abena Osei-Asare praised the late Panyin Nkansah for the critical role he played during the formative years of the district, describing him as one of the pioneering leaders whose dedication helped position Atiwa East among some of the country’s most respected districts.
“This loss is deeply personal to many of us in Atiwa East and within the NPP fraternity. Hon. Panyin Nkansah was not only our first DCE; he was one of the foundational figures of our district. Under his leadership, Atiwa East earned respect across the country and stood shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest and most established districts, often distinguishing itself with excellence.”
She further recounted her close working relationship with the late former DCE during their years of public service, saying they shared a strong bond rooted in mutual respect and a shared vision for the development of the district.
“I had the privilege of working closely with him during our time serving the people of Atiwa East, and throughout that period we shared a warm and supportive relationship built on mutual respect and a common desire to see our district progress.
“We supported each other, worked together for the development of our people, and remained united in our commitment to the growth of Atiwa East and the strengthening of our party.”
