Four people sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident involving an STC bus and a Kia Picanto taxi at Konongo Akrantiebesa on Friday, June 5.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Konongo-Odumasi Fire Station responded to the emergency and rescued a victim who was trapped in the wreckage following the collision.

According to the GNFS, the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles. The Kia Picanto taxi was severely mangled, with its engine compartment completely crushed by the impact.

Before firefighters arrived, nearby residents rescued three of the injured victims and transported them to Steward Hospital for treatment.

Upon reaching the scene, the fire crew focused efforts on rescuing a fourth victim who remained trapped inside the damaged taxi. The firefighters successfully extricated the victim and transported him to the Asante Akyem Central Hospital to receive medical attention.

The Ghana National Fire Service confirmed that a total of four people were injured in the crash.
