Premier League and Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo has been appointed Global Brand Ambassador for Ahmad Tea, the British tea company announced on Wednesday, June 10.

The partnership comes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Semenyo is expected to play a key role for the Black Stars.

According to Ahmad Tea, the collaboration is built on shared values of dedication, discipline and preparation, and forms part of the company’s new global campaign dubbed “Preparation is Everything.”

The campaign seeks to highlight the importance of commitment, attention to detail and excellence in achieving success, drawing parallels between the process of crafting tea blends and preparing for elite-level sport.

As part of the partnership, Semenyo will feature in Ahmad Tea’s global marketing activities, including television advertising, digital and social media campaigns, retail promotions, experiential events and public relations initiatives.

The company said the forward will also star in a television commercial later this year that explores how preparation contributes to success both on and off the football pitch.

In Ghana, Ahmad Tea plans to roll out a dedicated programme under the campaign, featuring nationwide retail promotions, fan engagement activities, consumer competitions and digital content centred on the Black Stars’ World Cup journey.

The company said it will also use the initiative to share Semenyo’s story from grassroots football to the international stage, with the aim of inspiring young Ghanaians through messages of hard work, discipline and perseverance.

Speaking on the appointment, Semenyo said he was proud to partner with the brand, describing its emphasis on preparation as a principle that aligns closely with his football career.

“One of their important messages is that preparation is everything. They are talking about making their tea, and in that is a message that I live by in my career: you have to be ready,” he said.

He added that preparation extends beyond matchday and includes training, recovery, nutrition, studying opponents and reflecting on performances.

“We are delighted to welcome Antoine Semenyo to the Ahmad Tea family as our new Global Brand Ambassador. Antoine’s story is one of hard work, determination and continuous improvement – qualities that perfectly embody our ‘Preparation is Everything’ campaign,” she said.

Wakelin noted that Semenyo’s popularity in Ghana and beyond, coupled with the upcoming World Cup, presents an opportunity for the brand to connect with consumers through an authentic story about excellence and achievement.

Ahmad Tea products are sold in more than 90 countries worldwide. The company said Semenyo will feature in a range of international campaigns across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia throughout 2026 and beyond.
