The Upper East Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has announced plans to host the maiden Upper East Regional Development and Business Forum and Exhibition, aimed at attracting investment, promoting local enterprises, and accelerating socio-economic development across the region.

Speaking at a media briefing in Bolgatanga on Thursday June 12, the Upper East Regional Minister, Akamugri Donatus Atanga, said the three-day event, dubbed “Charting the Course for PEARL,” will be held from June 29 to July 1, 2026, at the Desert Pastures Church in Bolgatanga.

The Regional Minister said the forum forms part of efforts to position the Upper East Region as a destination for investment and sustainable development while creating opportunities for dialogue between government, the private sector, development partners, and local entrepreneurs.

“The forum will provide a unique platform for stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, showcase the region’s economic potential, and develop practical strategies for accelerating growth and transformation,” he said.

According to him, the initiative aligns with the government’s broader agenda of promoting inclusive development and strengthening local economies through strategic partnerships and private sector participation.

The event is expected to attract policymakers, investors, business leaders, development partners, traditional authorities, academia, and members of the Ghanaian diaspora.

The Regional Minister emphasized that the Upper East Region possesses significant opportunities in agriculture, tourism, mining, renewable energy, and commerce, which remain largely untapped.

The Regional Minister expressed optimism that the forum would serve as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation, and infrastructure development in the region.

The Upper East Regional Development and Business Forum and Exhibition is expected to feature panel discussions, business-to-business engagements, investment presentations, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
