Zeepay has responded to recent media reports regarding a court case involving the company, stating that the matter remains before the courts and is currently pending determination by the Court of Appeal.

The response comes after reports that a High Court had ordered Zeepay and its Chief Executive Officer to refund more than $11.6 million in connection with a failed fund transfer transaction.

In a statement issued on Monday June 29, the digital payments company urged the public, partners, customers, and stakeholders to exercise caution regarding reports circulating in the media, insisting that the publications do not accurately represent the current legal status of the case.

The company said it was aware of reports concerning the dispute involving Zeepay and other parties but stressed that the legal process was still ongoing.

“Following recent media publications concerning the matter involving Zeepay and other parties, we wish to inform our partners, stakeholders, customers, and the general public that this matter remains before the courts, pending determination by the Court of Appeal,” the statement said.

Zeepay further indicated that the media reports contained inaccuracies regarding the case and noted that any concerns arising from such publications would be addressed through the appropriate legal channels.

The company reiterated its commitment to respecting the judicial process and upholding the rule of law, adding that it would refrain from making further public comments on issues that are currently before the courts.

“Accordingly, we will refrain from commenting further on matters that are sub judice, and we urge the public to treat unverified reports with caution pending the courts’ final determination,” the statement added.

While declining to discuss the substance of the case, Zeepay sought to reassure its stakeholders that its operations remain unaffected and that the company continues to conduct its business professionally.

The company expressed appreciation to its partners, customers, employees, and stakeholders for their continued support and confidence, assuring them of its commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism as the legal proceedings continue.
