Agencies under the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition have presented their strategic roadmaps to the Ministry of Finance as part of a coordinated effort to accelerate reforms and strengthen policy alignment across Ghana’s energy sector.

The engagement, led by the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, forms part of government’s broader strategy to improve coordination between key institutions responsible for financing and implementing reforms in the petroleum, electricity and renewable energy sectors.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, June 30, Dr. Jinapor said the meeting provided an opportunity for the sector agencies to outline their ongoing programmes, reform priorities and the financial and policy support required to accelerate implementation.

According to the Minister, the engagement reflects government’s commitment to building a more resilient, efficient and sustainable energy sector capable of supporting Ghana’s economic transformation.

“Each agency presented its strategic roadmap, outlining ongoing reforms, key priorities and the support required from Government to accelerate delivery across the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors,” he stated.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the Ministries of Energy and Finance to ensure that budgetary support and policy decisions are aligned with the sector’s long-term development objectives.

Dr. Jinapor noted that the initiative is consistent with President John Dramani Mahama’s agenda to reset Ghana’s energy sector through effective planning, stronger institutional coordination and targeted investment.

He expressed confidence that closer collaboration between the two ministries would help improve energy infrastructure, expand access to reliable electricity, accelerate the transition to cleaner energy sources and enhance the overall efficiency of the sector.

The Minister added that the coordinated approach would also support efforts to improve energy security, attract investment and create a more enabling environment for businesses and households.
