A two-term former District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzoh, has been disqualified by the Western Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vetting Committee from contesting the position of Regional Secretary at the party’s upcoming Regional Delegates Conference.
Explaining the decision, Chairman of the Western Regional NPP Elections Committee, Ernest Nkrumah Taylor, said Mr Bonzoh was among 30 aspirants vetted but failed to meet the minimum academic qualification of a first degree required for the Regional Secretary position.
Mr Taylor said this formed the basis for Mr Bonzoh’s disqualification by the vetting committee, chaired by former Western Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Gifty Kusi.
The vetting process has been ongoing in other parts of the country to assess aspirants’ competencies and capabilities.
