The Chinese Embassy in Ghana has donated computers and a sum of Ghc 20,000 to the National House of Chiefs.

The donation was in fulfillment of a request by the National House of Chiefs to the Chinese Embassy in Ghana.

The items included; ten(10) desktop and two laptop computers, two external hard drives, ten(10) anti-virus software, two air-conditioners and ten(10) D-link USB wireless adaptors, a server machine and two canon scanners.

Presenting the items at the 4th Annual General Meeting of the National House Chiefs in Kumasi, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Shi Ting Wang said the computers will support the launch of the digitization program of the House of Chiefs, while the cash will also support the capacity building of members of the house.

He said China attaches great importance to the role and works traditional leaders play in the social and economic development of Ghana, as well as the bilateral relations between both countries.

He commended the President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV for his focus on China’s development and promoting Ghana-China cooperation.

He called on leaders of both countries to take advantage of the good momentum of the development of bilateral relations as well as China’s big market and trading opportunities to work together to build an open global economy.

“Rome wasn’t built in one day, development isn’t an easy task. I deeply believe that, with the joint efforts of our two governments and peoples, China-Ghana relations will definitely embrace a better tomorrow”, he stated.

Togbe Afede XIV thanked the embassy for granting the request and assured the devices and cash will be used for their intended purposes.

He said the House will continue to play an active role in ensuring the bilateral cooperation between Ghana and China is strengthened.
