The 2024 Citi Business Olympics, the largest sporting event among corporate institutions, has gotten off to a thrilling start, with participants from various corporate institutions expressing excitement and gratitude for the unique opportunity to network and socialize through sports.

The event, organized by Citi FM and Channel One TV, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Eden Heights Sports Complex in Accra aimed to unite business owners, staff, and professionals from diverse fields to showcase their athletic abilities, build relationships with fellow business owners and professionals, and promote their businesses to a wider audience.

Participants are competing in a range of events, including lime and spoon, sack race, arm wrestling, tug of war, basketball, 7-a-side football, ludo, chess, oware, and wrestling.

Despite the intense competition, participants are eager to demonstrate their teamwork, strategy, and athletic prowess.

A Participant from FEDCO, Samira Ibrahim stated, “So, the organization is very fun and at least we come to know a lot of companies and we also come to sell our company out for a lot of companies out there. In fact, we want, next year a lot of companies to also register so, that they also come and see how the feeling is, and the experience is. This is actually our third time coming and it’s actually amazing.”

Another participant Frank Agyei Mensah from Peeva Beverages added, “On the side of the sporting activities, so far we are not doing badly. We qualified for the finals in a draft for soccer, racing, and football. We didn’t do well in the arm wrestling, but I believe that is competition, you win some, you lose some, but I think the organization so far has been perfect.”

“This is our first time participating, and I think Citi FM should keep it up. So as I said I mean, if you are an organisation and you do not participate this year, don’t sit on the fence. Try and register next year and be part of it. It’s also a way to network because I’ve spoken to a lot of big guys who are also from other companies and I believe that we are sharing ideas. So please, other organizations, please don’t sit on the fence, register and be part of the team next year.”

The event has received widespread praise from participants for its unique platform for business promotion.

Many have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to showcase their company’s brand and products to a wider audience.

With its unique blend of sports and networking, the event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all participants.

As the competition heats up, participants are urging other companies to register for next year’s event.
