The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has promised to complete and commission a 30-bed children’s hospital at the Tafo Government Hospital before the end of the year.
Nana B, as he is widely known, disclosed that the project, which began five years ago as a personal commitment to improve child healthcare services, is currently 85 per cent complete.
He said the initiative was inspired by concerns over the poor condition of the hospital’s existing Children’s Ward, which had become a challenge for healthcare providers and residents in the region.
“As of my visit today, the project is 85% complete. Watching this vision steadily become a reality has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling journeys of my life,” he said.
The NPP National Organiser said he hoped to witness the completion and commissioning of the facility before the end of the year to enable children and families to access improved healthcare services.
Nana Boakye, who turns 45, said the project was not about personal recognition but about contributing to improved healthcare delivery.
“This journey has never been about me. It has always been about giving hope, preserving lives, and leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to individuals who have supported the project and said he remained confident that the facility would soon be completed.
The completed facility is expected to expand healthcare capacity for children receiving treatment at the Tafo Government Hospital and help improve access to specialised paediatric care in the region.
