The national executives and members of the Queen Mothers’ Platform-Ghana (QMP) have extended heartfelt congratulations to President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama on their assumption of office.

In a statement, the group described this milestone as a testament to Ghana’s democratic tradition and leadership.

They lauded President Mahama’s historic choice of a woman as Vice President, expressing confidence that the new administration would inspire collective leadership, growth and inclusivity for all Ghanaians.

“As evidenced in your choice of a woman as Vice President, we trust that your term in office will inspire collective leadership, growth, development and inclusivity for all citizens of Ghana. We join our hearts with that of many Ghanaians to look forward to the future with excitement,” the statement added.

The Queen Mothers affirmed their commitment to partnering with the government to advance initiatives that promote the welfare of women, youth, and vulnerable groups.

They emphasised their dedication to equity and inclusive development, pledging to support policies that empower all citizens.

“As Traditional Leaders, the Queen Mothers’ Platform-Ghana is committed to working with the state to promote the advancement of women, youth and the vulnerable/marginalised members of our society to contribute to national development. We therefore look forward to working together with you, to contribute to the creation of a future where every Ghanaian thrives, and the values of equity and inclusive development are realised across all segments of our society”.

Established in 2018, QMP represents Queen Mothers across Ghana, advocating for the advancement of women and marginalized groups to contribute to national development and the achievement of global development goals.
