The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohonu, has reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in the Bole area of the Savannah Region.

The assurance follows his engagement with the Special Operations Team deployed to Bole during a working visit to the Savannah Regional Police Headquarters in Damongo. The visit, described as morale-boosting, was aimed at strengthening the operational readiness and professionalism of officers on the ground.

Addressing the team, the IGP commended their dedication and urged them to remain disciplined, vigilant, and ethical in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the importance of proactive policing and close collaboration with other security agencies to ensure lasting peace.

“The nation counts on your professionalism and commitment. Stay alert, stay united, and continue working collaboratively with other security agencies to enhance coordination and efficiency,” Mr. Yohonu said.

He further directed the officers to intensify daily patrols, particularly in the boundary areas of Bole, where reports of displacement have raised concerns. Vulnerable communities, he noted, should be given special protection to prevent the escalation of conflict and guarantee the safety of residents.

The IGP also highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation, stressing that stronger collaboration with other security institutions will enhance effectiveness in tackling crime and instability.

Following the engagement, the Special Operations Team returned to Bole to continue critical duties, including community patrols, intelligence gathering, and conflict prevention initiatives.

Their ongoing presence, police say, has already contributed significantly to stabilising the area and restoring public confidence.
