In a spectacular celebration of excellence, UNICHEM Ghana Limited, in proud association with LUEX Healthcare, lit up this year’s Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) Annual General Meeting with a once-in-a-lifetime giveaway of a fully paid trip to Dubai.

The Winning Name was picked by none other than Dr. Samuel Donkoh, Ex-president PSGH, and the prestigious prize was presented by Pham Solomon Odamten and the Unichem Ghana Team, which was awarded to Dr. Robert Inkoom of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH).

Alongside him, nine runner-up pharmacists were also honored, making this year’s AGM an unforgettable moment in Ghana’s pharmaceutical calendar.

The initiative, dubbed “King & Queen of the Counter”, was designed to mark World Pharmacists Day 2026, spotlighting the men and women who have been at the very heart of LUEX’s journey in Ghana.

For decades, pharmacists across the nation have stood as the trusted gatekeepers of healthcare, guiding patients toward effective treatments and championing brands that have become household names.

Among these are Mycolex, the trusted antifungal; Diclolex, a staple for pain and inflammation; Wormbat, the dewormer that has safeguarded countless families; and the ever-reliable LUEX Cough Syrup, a remedy synonymous with relief during the harmattan season. These brands, and many more under the UNICHEM and LUEX umbrella, are daily touch points in the lives of Ghanaians, a testament to the company’s mission of strengthening primary healthcare and access to quality medicines.

Speaking at the presentation, Senior Pharmacist of the Unichem Limited, Phm Solomon Odamten, said that they are committed to elevating the profession and rewarding excellence:

“Our pharmacists are pillars of the healthcare system. To see them recognized in this way, not just as dispensers of medicine but as brand ambassadors and community heroes, is a powerful moment for all of us. LUEX Continues to lead the way.”

The Dubai Prize Package includes 3 nights and 4 days of luxury accommodation, flights, visa, and full-board meals.

For the pharmacists who participated, the competition was not just about answering questions. It was a reminder of the vital role they play in building trust with patients and ensuring Ghana’s leading healthcare brands remain accessible, effective, and impactful.

As LUEX continues to innovate and deliver world-class pharmaceuticals to Ghanaian communities, the company has once again demonstrated that its greatest strength lies in its partnership with the professionals behind the counter.

And for Dr. Robert Inkoom, one pharmacist’s dedication has indeed turned into a life-changing journey. For decades, pharmacists across the nation have stood as the trusted gatekeepers of healthcare, guiding patients toward effective treatments and championing brands that have become household names.
