Some scrap dealers in Takoradi, who claim to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), are demanding refunds of GH¢330,000 each from party executives after National Security operatives halted their scrap operations at the Takoradi railway station.
The aggrieved dealers alleged that they had paid the money to some NDC executives for permission to scrap 100 tons of railway materials located at the Takoradi Harbour.
However, they were stopped on Wednesday, November 5, when National Security officers stormed the area and prevented them from continuing the exercise, insisting the materials were not authorised for scrapping.

One of the dealers, Alhaji Razak, who said he paid GH¢330,000 to the Effia NDC Constituency Chairman, Seidu Adams, alleged that they were deceived into believing the scrap had been legally approved for sale.
He said the group plans to petition the NDC Regional Executives to demand either a full refund or access to the scrap materials.
