Voting has concluded in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries, with ballot counting now underway at polling centres nationwide.
Reports from some centres have flagged alleged vote-buying incidents, prompting party officials and security personnel to monitor the situation closely.
In a few areas, individuals reportedly using unauthorised body cameras were arrested, raising concerns over compliance with the party’s electoral regulations.
Despite these isolated incidents, the primaries have largely been peaceful and orderly, with party leadership urging delegates and members to remain calm and vigilant as results are collated.
The NPP has reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible electoral process, assuring that any reported infractions will be thoroughly investigated and addressed.
The contest features five aspirants: Kennedy Agyapong; former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong; former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
