The Management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has strongly condemned comments labelling the school as a “breeding ground for homosexuals.”
This follows comments by lawyer and media personality, Serwaa Amihere, in which she reportedly described the school as a “breeding ground for homosexuals.”
In a statement dated January 17, 2026, the school described the comments as false, reckless, and deeply offensive, saying they amounted to an irresponsible generalisation that maligned its students and undermined the integrity of the institution.
Management stated that the remarks sought to stigmatise the school, which it said has a long-standing legacy of discipline, academic excellence, and moral formation.
The statement noted that PRESEC is a Presbyterian mission institution founded on Christian values and governed in line with the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the laws of the Republic. It added that for more than eight decades, the school has focused on academic excellence, character development, leadership, discipline, and the moral upbringing of students.
According to management, any assertion suggesting otherwise is a gross misrepresentation of the school’s identity and values.
The statement highlighted PRESEC’s record of achievements, including repeated successes at the National Science and Maths Quiz, and its contributions to national development through the training of students who have excelled in academia, public service, science, business, faith, and civic life.
Management further indicated that statements of such nature were not only inaccurate but harmful, as they unfairly label students and expose them to ridicule, prejudice, and emotional harm, while also attempting to erode the school’s reputation.
The school stressed that it would not accept or normalise what it described as defamatory characterisations.
Management expressed appreciation to parents, alumni, students, and the general public for their continued trust and support, and assured stakeholders that the school remains committed to upholding its values, protecting the dignity of its students, and sustaining high standards of excellence and character formation.
The statement reaffirmed PRESEC’s commitment to its core mandate of delivering quality education, enforcing discipline, shaping character, and preparing young men to become principled leaders and responsible citizens.
