The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of outstanding allowances to National Service Personnel (NSP) across the country.

In a press release dated February 17, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority said concrete steps are being taken to expedite the disbursement of arrears owed to eligible personnel.

NSA assured them that all verified and legitimate arrears will be cleared by the close of the week.

Management acknowledged that allowances are critical to supporting service personnel during their service year and emphasised that every personnel member deserves timely payment of their stipends.

According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week covering a two-month period to facilitate payments.

“Management would want to assure personnel that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds for disbursement last week for a period of two (2) months,” the statement said.

However, the NSA explained that the delay in disbursement is due to an ongoing verification process by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS). The Authority noted that the verification must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finalised.

Management expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience demonstrated by service personnel during the period.

The NSA added that it will continue to provide timely updates through its official communication channels to keep personnel fully informed.
