The Wettey and Donkor families have announced the final funeral arrangements for their beloved sons, Captain Frank Amoanyi Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor, following the tragic microlight aircraft crash at Tema.

In a press statement dated March 23, 2026, the families disclosed that the funeral rites will be held on Saturday, March 28, at the forecourt of the State House.

According to the statement, the remains of the deceased will be laid in state from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., after which the burial service will immediately follow.

The families expressed deep sorrow over the loss but also conveyed gratitude for the support they have received during this difficult period.

They extended special appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for his thoughtfulness and for sending a delegation, led by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to commiserate with them.

They also acknowledged the Chief of Staff for approving the use of the State House Forecourt for the funeral service.

Further gratitude was extended to Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, for his personal visit and support to the grieving families.

The statement also recognised the presence and support of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, who sent a high-powered delegation to mourn with the families.
