The Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Mavis Kuukua Bissue has held high-level talks with Barry N. Griffin, Vice President of the Senate and Chairman of The Bahamas Trade Commission, aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting offered the opportunity for both parties to explore pathways to deepen bilateral engagement between Ahanta and the Bahamas, and optimism about the prospects for stronger commercial linkages.

The MP acknowledged Senator Griffin’s firm commitment to advancing the partnership.

She further highlighted the Senator’s prior connection to Ahanta, following his visit in 2023 for the signing of a sister-city agreement.

Discussions also touched on cultural diplomacy, with particular focus on the enduring significance of Junkanoo.

Senator Griffin referenced ongoing efforts to shape the Junkanoo Authority Bill, underscoring the festival’s role as a cultural bridge linking the Bahamas and Ahanta.

The engagement is expected to pave the way for enhanced collaboration across trade, culture, and economic development.
