The District Chief Executive for Krachi Nchumuru, Martin Anarto, has called for the immediate arrest of individuals involved in a deadly clash in the district.
The incident, which occurred at Beposo, resulted in the death of one person, with six others sustaining injuries following a violent confrontation between two Konkomba groups.
Several houses were set ablaze during the clash, while thousands of tubers of yams were destroyed. Motorbikes and other properties were also burnt.
Although no arrests have been made, the DCE, speaking to Citi News, urged swift police action to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“When the crisis started, six people were seriously wounded, and one person was killed. There must be an arrest for the government machinery to be operational and take care of the situation.
“There are some names available to the police and we are urging them to at least arrest those people. We don’t know what is stopping them from arresting those people. We are talking about peace and without justice, there can’t be peace.”
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service says investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest all those involved.
