The Digicoast has officially launched the NeuroCoders Initiative, a flagship programme aimed at bridging the gap between neurodiversity and the technology industry by equipping autistic and dyslexic youth with specialised IT training, mentorship, and pathways to high-demand tech careers.
The initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by The Digicoast and supported by Zeroth Business Solutions Limited, was launched at the Accra Digital Centre on Friday, April 24, 2026, under the theme “Unlocking Digital Potential Beyond the Spectrum.”

Organisers say the programme reflects The Digicoast’s belief that the digital economy thrives on diverse perspectives, noting that some of the most brilliant technical minds often remain overlooked due to limited inclusion in mainstream training and employment systems.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the launch, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Digicoast, Gordon Fiifi Donkor, emphasised the need to bridge the digital divide and ensure inclusive participation in Ghana’s growing tech ecosystem.

He outlined that the initiative will focus on structured training, mentorship, and direct job linkage opportunities for beneficiaries, aimed at preparing them for real-world roles in the technology industry.
“We are launching NeuroCoders to make sure that those that are left behind in the digital divide, that is those with a neurodivergent condition, so those in the spectrum….we believe that these are individuals that have unique capabilities or cognitive talents that can be utilized in the tech world. All we find is that they are always left behind. Some people believe that these people are not capable of actually working just as we are within the tech space. But we believe that these individuals can acquire future digital skills that will make them relevant in the tech space.
“So the program is designed in a way that once they acquired the future digital skills, we transition them into a mentor based kind of training where they would be able to work within the identified space. So if someone is good at data engineering or software engineering, they work within that space with a designed mentor,” Gordon Fiifi Donkor said.
Also speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, the CEO of Mission Paediatrics, Dr. Marilyn Marbell Wilson, highlighted the importance of identifying and nurturing neurodiverse talent with strong potential in information technology.
She stressed that the initiative provides a timely platform to integrate such individuals into the digital economy and maximise their contributions. She welcomed the programme, describing it as a significant step towards inclusive digital development for neurodiverse children and young people in Ghana.
“This initiative, NeuroCoders initiative, is a Godsend at this time in Ghana. So the initiative is to help children who have the potential to be technical or to do IT things, to be able to train, to get employment, and to be able to build and create things so that they can contribute to the digital economy. In our work at Mission Paediatrics, we have realised that neurodiverse children have so many strengths.
“Examples that we have seen over the years are things like hyper-focusing, attention to detail, pattern recognition, visual thinking, very good memories, and these are all strengths that are very important in the digital field. We know children who are nonverbal, as in non-speaking, but can do everything on the computer and the computer seems to give them a voice. So this initiative is a really timely initiative to be able to harness the strengths that we are seeing in these neurodiverse children so that we can build upon it, and so that they can contribute to the digital economy in Ghana,” she stressed.
