The Bono Regional Police Command has launched investigations into an incident of alleged unlawful damage to property at the Drobo Traditional Council Palace in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region.
According to a press release issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit, the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at about 9:10 a.m., when a group of about 15 men reportedly stormed the palace wearing red bands on their heads.
The group is said to have damaged the main entrance door of the palace in an attempt to take control of the facility.
The complainant, Nana Tanor Bediako, the Krontihene of the Drobo Traditional Council, reported the matter to police at about 9:30 a.m. the same day, accompanied by two other persons.
According to the statement, officers who proceeded to the scene found a group of people at the forecourt of the palace, with the main entrance gate damaged. The right section of the gate had reportedly been removed and left on the ground.

The release further indicated that three pump-action guns loaded with 14 rounds of BB ammunition, as well as one single-barrel gun, were retrieved from individuals believed to be aligned with the Omanhene’s side and taken as exhibits.
Preliminary investigations suggest that members of the Bosea family, believed to be aligned with the Drobo Queen Mother, acted on information that the Omanhene was preparing to install some sub-chiefs. They reportedly moved to the palace to prevent the installation but were allegedly confronted by supporters of the Omanhene, leading to a confrontation.
The Police also noted that the Bosea family claims to have secured an injunction from the Bono Regional House of Chiefs for service on the Omanhene, but allege that he is evading service.
A misunderstanding between the two factions reportedly escalated into a clash at the palace forecourt.
The Police Command said calm has since been restored in the area and urged all parties to pursue due legal processes in resolving the dispute. Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those involved in the disturbances for prosecution.
The Command warned that it will not hesitate to deal with any person who breaches the law.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command.
