Assistant coach Desmond Offei will lead Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, when they face the Mexico national football team in an international friendly in Puebla on Saturday, May 23.
He takes charge of the side in the absence of head coach Carlos Queiroz, who is unavailable due to personal reasons.
Offei, who has been overseeing the team’s preparations since they arrived in Mexico, will be supported by goalkeepers’ trainer Daniel Gaspar and set-piece coach and video analyst Gregory De Grauwe on the technical bench.
The friendly is part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
The match against Mexico is expected to provide the technical team with further opportunities to assess the squad as preparations continue toward the global tournament.
