Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority Anthony Kwasi Sarpong has disclosed that the Authority’s Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) is now being actively fused  with major national databases, including SSNIT and the Registrar of Companies, as part of efforts to strengthen tax compliance and improve revenue mobilisation.

The ITAS is designed as a unified digital platform that brings together data previously scattered across multiple institutional systems, ensuring that every business registered in Ghana is automatically captured within the national tax database without the need for separate registration processes.

Aside from that platform’s integration, Sarpong said, will extend to the National Identification Authority and the Passport Office, enabling authorities to verify identities and track financial activities linked to individuals, including income streams and assets both within and outside the country.

Speaking at the 10th Ghana CEO Summit on Thursday, May 28, he indicated how the system has already begun exposing gaps in compliance, particularly among individuals with cross-border financial activities, underscoring the relevance of the ITAS, which is designed to ensure that taxable income is properly captured regardless of where it is generated.

“I-TAS will help us find you,” he stated, emphasising that the integration is intended to eliminate blind spots in the tax system and create a more transparent and efficient revenue administration framework.
