Accra Hearts of Oak has stated that its team bus was involved in a minor collision with a tricycle on Saturday, May 16, 2026, while the team travelled to honour its Matchday 33 fixture against FC Samartex 1996.
In a statement, the club confirmed that all players and officials on board escaped unhurt.
“A few roadside victims affected by the incident were taken to the hospital at Wassa Simpa, where they received treatment and have been discharged,” the club said.
“Hearts of Oak would like to assure the general public and the football fraternity that all players and officials are safe. We appreciate the concern and support shown to the team.”
The Phobians are scheduled to face Samartex on Sunday, May 17, at 1500 GMT.
With two matches left in the season, Hearts of Oak are no longer in contention for the league title and currently sit third on the Ghana Premier League table with 51 points, eight behind leaders Medeama SC.
The club will be seeking to secure a top-two finish before the end of the campaign.
