President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) for their sustained efforts in tackling armed robbery and organised crime, as well as their commitment to transforming the Ghana Police Service.

The President made the remarks at the official commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, commending the Inspector-General of Police and POMAB for what he described as their quiet but highly effective role in the fight against crime. He praised the Police Service leadership for intensifying operations against criminal networks and strengthening public safety across the country.

He noted that ongoing reforms and operational strategies being implemented by the Police Administration were contributing significantly to improved law enforcement and security outcomes nationwide.

“I also want to take this opportunity to commend the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Management Board, his leadership team, for their dedication to transforming the Police Service,” the President said.

He added: “This Police Management team has been quiet, they don’t make too much noise but they are very effective”.

On his part, the IGP, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, expressed appreciation to the President for his continued support towards strengthening Ghana’s security framework. He highlighted government’s investment in retooling the Service, particularly the provision of armoured vehicles, which he said has played a critical role in supporting operations and helping to foil several robbery incidents.

The IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Administration to sustain the momentum in crime fighting and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
