Unconfirmed reports gathered by Citi News indicate that nine people are missing following severe flooding in the Awutu Senya East Municipality after hours of torrential rainfall.

According to accounts from affected communities, seven individuals attempted to move from their location to the roadside as floodwaters rapidly rose. However, they were caught in the surging waters midway through their journey.

Residents who rushed to the scene managed to rescue four of the individuals, but the remaining three could not be located and are currently unaccounted for.

In a separate incident in the same area, three other persons are also believed to have been swept away by fast-moving floodwaters, bringing the unconfirmed number of missing persons in that community to six.

Further reports from Tuba indicate a distressing incident in which a woman was reportedly walking through floodwaters with her two children when they were all carried away by the strong current. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

Overall, the unconfirmed figures suggest that about nine people are currently missing following the heavy flooding that hit parts of the municipality.

Emergency response efforts are expected to continue as authorities work to verify the reports and assess the full extent of the disaster.
